It would be quite tough to apply the spoilers rules. Even with out hacking, a person in say, New Zealand, might have the newest update nearly a complete day until I get it in the west coast. They can post a picture that is legit and not a spoiler for them but it may ruin a surprise for me due to the time difference. Personally, IMO, if you don't need to get spoiled, tread with care on the internet. Everyone understands people time traveling in AC & it's a long haul game, so the risk of being exposed to spoilers is large. This risk & responsibility should be on the individual browsing, not the responsibility of the poster. That being said, I really do think a spoiler dash of any sort would be fine, only to have the choice, because it is bothering to be spoiled on some thing, and we're just trying to have fun here. I have a feeling people would get used to the flair eventually and much more folks would begin using it!

To expand on my opinion: if it's something which's built into the game since launch & occurs yearly (such as NYE, festive season, bunny afternoon etc), I do not care as much about spoilers. I do not like seeing spoilers that come from a hacked swap for new content (like Pavé or Halloween and likely Mario), however I know it's a risk to see them when I get online after an upgrade. But this is all my opinion & feelings onto it, and all means of playing/views on spoilers are legitimate & acceptable. I have noticed people are very passionate about this game, and frequently have conflicting views on topics similar to this, but I just need the most people possible to have fun & enjoy the sport & the sub.
