Jagex have announced after 18 years of being the battleground for PvP, Duel Arena will be moving out of RuneScape and a new area to be created. RuneScape will launch Het's Oasis and a brand new landscape , new skilling methods and two new mini-quests for players to try.

The game will begin today with Oasis Restoration, players will be tasked for the creation of the Duel Arena following a cataclysmic earthquake that devastated the area. Players will need to cooperate to turn the ruins of the arena from "a bloody pit for fighting where heroes have sunk their fortune in one-on-1 matches as well as a peaceful haven."

Players will help rebuild the region and take on daily tasks which will earn them rewards depending on their performance. Participants in the community event will get exclusive rewards from the event, such as a new name, a crocodile as a pet, the theme of deserts in cosmetic armour, as well as Gators' shoes.

Following the two-week event for the community the newly constructed area will become known as Het's Oasis , a place of learning and exploration with new skill-related content for anyone looking to develop their Agility, Hunter , and Farming skills.

"Heroes will also help in the battle against God of Death in two Eye of Het mini-quests as they delve into Het's Tomb in search of a powerful object that can aid the gods who are young as part of the Elder God Wars saga," the press release reads.

In a brand-new event that begins now and continues until March 3, 2022 players will be able to obtain a new version of the classic "Partyhat" that was an item initially available during a Christmas event prior to 2001. Originally , it was only available in red yellow, green, blue or purple the RuneScape's "The Golden Party Hat Hunt" quest will allow players to gain access to one of the most sought-after cosmetics that have a metallic shimmer.
